Laced Leather: Knits and Embroidery
I hope you are having a wonderful day finishing up last minute shopping and preparations for the upcoming holidays. As we speak, I’m busy preparing of a trip up north to spend time with family and friends as well as ring in the new year. What I love most about the holidays is the time spent with family, spending the day at my aunt’s or cousins’ house talking stories and having much needed quality time. The house is always filled with laughter and chatter and the kitchen is warm from food preparations. I love the cards and snail mail from friends and family from far off places, the pictures slipped into the folds of letters and cards, to remind us that even if there are miles between us, we are closer than ever. I hope that you enjoy your holidays as much as I will. I will meet new people that I’ll call family in the future, spend quality time with the other half, and ring in the new year with a big celebration of love. I’m a bit excited if you ask me.
I’m playing with textures today with an embroidered leather skirt, woven white shirt and a knit cardigan. It’s a take on my favorite combination with a bit of a twist. When I first saw this skirt I instantly fell in love with the embroidery, I adore it’s intricate and delicate details juxtaposed with the relaxed simplicity of the leather. I decided to highlight the details of the skirt by keeping the rest of the outfit a simple black and white.
