Anniversary, Love, and Beyond
This month marks the anniversary of my blog. This blog has been around for about 4 years now. It’s has a creative outlet for me, a break from the norm of life. I’m no where near trying to be a famous blogger, I’m just sharing my style with people.
On weekdays, I’m a teacher and on the weekends, I’m a student and a part time blogger. I have not really shared that with many people. I usually keep things that I do separate.
This past year, I was challenged with preparing for my wedding, as a result, my love for shopping took a back seat. My wardrobe consists of items, I love and covet, each piece, I shop for with care more so now than ever. As you already know, my most loved and worn items are my shoes and a few bags and clothing pieces that I cannot live without. Most of my closet is made of basics that find their way into my outfits.
The honest truth is, I love to shop, it was hard for me to stop something I enjoy so much but last year while preparing for a wedding, I made it work. I shop low and high end items but I definite only splurge on items that will have staying power in my wardrobe, everything else is bought on sale, resale, thrifted, or given.
Why am I telling you this? The truth is, not a lot of people understand that about me. My closet is definitely a collection of finds that I mix and match. I don’t always have it together when it comes to outfits. I have lazy days where all I want to do is throw on a shirt and a pair of comfy shorts and lounge. I don’t always have make up on, deep down in side I’m still a bit of a tomboy despite the fact that now, I love to dress up when the opportunity arises.
While part of me would love to be able to shop often, there are so many other things I would love to invest in. 2016 is definitely going to be a year of changes and bigger life investments. I really hope that you continue to join me in my journey. Fashion is my first love and I hope that you stay the course with me.
With that being said, I’m sure most of you are having a wonderful three day weekend celebrating with your love one(s.) Make sure you laugh often, enjoy good company, and celebrate life with the ones you love the most.
