2017 Shoe Additions
by Elle

Hey Everyone,
This year’s Shoe Collections Additions were well thought out and curated. As you all know, at the beginning of this year, I decided to stop shopping for clothes and to be mindful of what I purchase in the clothing department. With that said, in this year’s shoe shopping, I tried to stick with as many wishlist items for this year and past years as possible. As a result, this year, I did not purchase any shoes that I did not feel was well made, I kept to my wish list for the most part, and I was good with sticking to my rule of never paying for price for shoes. I will show you the shoes in order of purchase.

Alexander Wang Studded Antonias in Clay and Black [EU 35]
I’ve been wanting this pair for years. It is one of Alexander Wang’s simplest styles and with the studded detail, they have a bit of edge and modern take on a simple sandal. This shoe was one my wish list a few years ago.

Balenciaga Glove Sandal in White [EU 35]
I’ve been loving these shoes since 2013 and when Alexander Wang announced that he was leaving as Creative Director of the fashion house, I knew that this style would be harder and harder to find. I initially wanted a red or a black shoe but the color combinations were quick to sell out. In March, when I went into the boutique one of the Sales Associates told me that this style was going to be discontinued. Initially, I put the Aqua blue version on hold when it went on sale at the boutique and completely missed out on the pair because it quickly sold out. In May, while perusing MyTheresa.com, I found a white version in 35’s. It was not black or red but it is still a great color that I’ll be able to match with many different pieces in my closet.

Christian Louboutin Madame Menodo in Multi Color Print [EU 34.5]
I tried this pair on last year when it first came out in this color way. I tried it on a whim while talking to my Sales Associate at Neiman’s. It was just a fun day trying on shoes and I was not really thinking that I would like the pair. When I tried it on I instantly fell in love with the uniqueness of the pair and the details of the shoe. It is definitely a conversation starter and a stand out pair. I waited until the price of the shoe dropped to a reasonable price in Last Call before pulling the trigger.

Sophia Webster Calico in Nude [EU 35]
I am a new fan of Sophia Webster shoes. Her designs are very avande garde and have a lot of personality. While other styles may not be for me, the Calico shoe is very reminiscent of my love for nature inspired shoes with its leather sculpted flowers. I love the dainty look of this shoe and its perfect for Spring, Summer, and weddings. I opted for a more neutral color for versatility and seasonal staying power.

Valentino Rockstud Ballet Flats in Pink and Nude Trim [EU 35]
I have been a big fan of the Valentino Rockstud family for years. I know they come in different colors depending on the season. I found these new ballet flats in the ending of September and the beginning of October. The mauve color was closer to a neutral and the patent leather was said to be more durable than the matte leather versions. The shoe is still a little stiff and I realized that Valentinos run big to size. These 35’s fit more like a 35.5. I suggest sizing down for this particular style just because they run bigger and the toe box area is wider than normal. I have a quick fix for that and I’ll share it with you in an upcoming post.

Chloe Kingsley Leather platform Sandal in Bordeaux [EU 35]
I have admired Chloe shoes for years but have never owned a pair of tried on a pair until I saw these Kingsley Leather Platforms. They are extremely comfortable and light. I also absolutely adore the bordeaux color of the pair.

Saint Laurent Patent Leather Tribute Sandals in Cream [EU 34]
I must have tried on these shoes multiple times in the past five years and it has been on my wish list for the past six years. Because of my size and its popularity, it has been difficult for me to get this shoe. I wanted it in black, nude, or a textured color. When I saw these in pristine condition on TheRealReal.com for a very reasonable price within my price point, I decided to get it. I was thoroughly surprised by the preloved quality of this pair of shoes. The patent leather was still taut and not stretched out, the shoe was already resoled. After inspecting the shoe, there were no scuffs of marks. The emblem of the shoe was not rubbed off in the insole.
Thank you so much for reading. I hope you enjoyed this post. What were some of your 2017 shoe additions. Let me know if in the comments below.

Great post and thanks for sharing your 2017 shoe additions. I love those Rockstud flats. They’ve been on my wishlist for many years now. Maybe 2018 will be the year I add a pair.

Thanks, I’ll check them out. I should have bought this purple patent pair but sadly let them slip away. 😭😭

You have so many beautiful shoes , I want them all haha ❤
This is a good list, goes perfectly with the trends of 2018. Some of the shoes and stelletoes look really artistic and the designer should be congratulated for the hard work.
Those glove sandals are amazing! I love the white shoe trend!
Beautiful pairs of shoes! I am a shoe addict myself, but I usually go for the sporty style, like Nike, New Balance or I even love UGG! However I love your shoes in these pictures! They look very trendy and fashionable;)
