One Month Challenge

A week ago I finish the 30 Day Challenge of wearing Fighting Eel, a local brand in Hawaii. I had fun creating outfits with their stuff and trying to make each outfit unique since a lot of the items I purchase from the brand are solid colors. I do not know if I’ll do anymore challenges in the future but I had fun doing it. I’ll share a few outfits I really liked during the challenge.

I have to be honest, I like to mix it up with different pieces in my closet so the pieces do not only stand alone but also work with items I already have. I also like to accessorize the outfits to give them some personality. I hope you like it.

P.S. This is not a sponsored post. I just happen to have a lot of their pieces in my closet.

Detail Oriented: Textures and Accessories

Hey Everyone,

It doesn’t get that cold in Hawaii but I love to layer when the temperature drops just a little. We might not have the cold chilly winters of the continent but the trade winds more than make up for that. It is definitely not sunshine all year round here, so I have my share of light sweaters and jackets.

When the weather gets cooler, I like to layer my outfits and play with different fabrics. Right now, I’m really loving the look of satin juxtaposed with a light knit  sweater or the fine woven finish of a button down.  It gives an outfit more dimension and character, playing up the different textures harmoniously.

In addition to texture play, I’m currently obsessed with working with accessories to accent and finish my outfits. I love accenting the collar with a pop of sparkle and color or picking up bracelets and rings that have subtle but interesting details.

Thank you again for reading. Take care.

Saturday Sparkle: Vintage Vibe

Happy Saturday Everyone,

I’m currently in love with statement necklaces that sparkle. I love pieces that have a classic and vintage vibe. Some things never go out of style. I can’t wait to use these with future outfits.

Good Things Come to those Who Wait: YSL

Best shoe find of the month. I’ve been trying to find a pair of YSLs within my budget and I was glad to find these at Nordstrom Rack the other day for a very reasonable discounted price, in the color I wanted as well as in my size. The leather is textured and it has that YSL signature platform and heel. They feel nicely on my tiny feet and the slingbacks do not slip off my narrow heel. I’m excited to pair these with some cute outfits.

What was your best shoe find? Let me know.

Tweed, Pearls, and Channeling Coco

Hello All,
Just stopping in to say hello. I hope you started your weekend with something amazing. One of my favorite fashion icons is Coco Chanel. Her style and taste is timeless. One iconic piece that reminds me of her is the Tweed Blazer. I love to wear tweed on cooler days in Hawaii. I like to layer it over button down shirts and multiple strands of pearls. It is definitely a piece that is worth investing in because it’s not only timeless but also a great way to pull together an outfit and make it dressier. How do you wear tweed? I would love to hear from you.

Thank you again for reading. Please like, comment, or follow my blog. Take care.

Polkadot Chambray and Red Details

Hi Everyone,

Hope you are enjoying your Monday. I like to add a pop of color when I’m wearing staple pieces like a chambray shirt and a pair of white jeans. I like the way the sunnies, the belt, and the shoes all bring the outfit together and make it just a little bit more complete. Take care and I hope to hear from you soon.

Hello Everyone!

I hope your week is going well. I’ve recently got into my pinning on Pinterest. I have to say, it’s such a great resource of ideas and inspirations for DIYs, recipes, outfits, and anything you could possibly think of.  I’ve been inspired to work on a couple of DIY accessories that I want to incorporate into my wardrobe. I can’t wait to make them and pair them with outfits for my outfit of the days posts.

Speaking of accessories, a good friend of mine approached me about doing a blog post about accessories and accessories tips. I’m putting that post for you guys and hopefully, I will have it up at the end of the week. On that note, a guy friend of mine inspired me to do a blog post about my style and color inspirations for outfits. I definitely can’t wait to share those things with all of you. If you guys have any comments and ideas for future post, let me know and I can try my best to share my perspective with you. Hope you guys have a great week.
