Lace, Satin, and Mohawks

Hello All,

Hope you are doing great. This is a bit of  a late post, I’ve been sporting a purple mohawk. I needed a break from my long locks and decided it was time for something new. I’ve been meaning to get a mohawk for a year now and I decided to finally take the plunge. It’s definitely a lot more breezier and easier to manage.

Played with some old pieces in my closet to get that lingerie inspired look that’s trendy this spring. I layered a light mocha satin camisole under a lace shell. I really like the results of the pairing.

What trends are you trying out this Spring? Let me know.

Thanks again for reading.

Seventies Flare: Wide Leg Trousers and Bow Collar Blouse

I am completely loving Spring’s throwback to the 70’s. The wide legged pants, the high necklines and platform shoes.  The feeling of nostalgia is welcomed without the color combinations from the 70’s.

But it all honesty, the 70’s never left fashion, it just stepped out of the fashion limelight. At least that is how I see it. 70’s style has been around here and there, spotted in several reincarnations as jumpsuits, coordinates, blouses, and wide legged pants through the years.

For this look, I did not look very far, I actually decided to shop my closet and see if the 70’s trend already existed in it and low and behold this outfit came together.

It is an outfit of items I added into my closet from many seasons past. The trouser look from 2011, a bow collar blouse from two years ago and a basic cardigan I adore. Not to mention, a pair of ultra wedge platforms picked up on sale a while back.

A style or trend that is classic never really leaves, it sort of lingers until it takes the fashion stage again. So a tip I would like to share with you is, before running to the mall to get the latest trend this season, check out your closet and find items you already love that embody the trend.

How are you translating the 70’s trend this season? Tell me what you think. Thanks again for reading.

Boston Adventure: Sporty, Comfy and Stylish

Hello All,
Hope you are having a wonderful week. I’m in New England visiting and decided to take a day in Boston. I absolutely love the city, its history, its architecture as well as the cuisine of the place. While in Boston, I like to take in the sights of the city, walking the Freedom Trail as well as the historical houses and places throughout Downtown Boston. While taking in the sights, I like to dress comfortably. I decided to wear my Adidas sneakers by Stella McCarthy. It’s fairly comfortable for walking around the city as well as sporty enough to train in. I figured it was perfect to the activities of the day. Also, enjoy some shots of the city.

Smiles and Rainbows: Printed Dress and Gold Details

Happy Friday everyone! Hope you are having an amazing and good Friday! It’s been raining a lot lately here the past couple of days. When in rains in Hawaii, there are always rainbows, gleams of hope on rainy days, that brighten up the gloomy sky. I love the way the half moon print of the dress reminds me of rainbows and smiling faces.

Hope you are having an amazing day!

Green Bows and Sunny Skies

Hello Everyone,
The weather in Hawaii has been a little unstable. Sunny, Rainy, Humid, Hot, and Cold. You name it, we had it and yes, we even have snow, but that’s on another island. It’s been hard to shoot outside with the weather we have been having. This outfit was shot last week when there was some sun in the morning.

I absolutely love the bow details on this pair of pants and the green is just the right amount of color. I try to find a reason to wear them often. I have to admit though that the women’s version of these pants were a little long for me so I opted to get the crewcuts version.

Hope you are having an amazing day!

Petite Shopping and Shopping Obsessions

Hi All,

Hope you are having a great weekend. As of late, I have been examining my closet and looking at how my clothing fits me. I always wondered why I never thought about petite shopping before or even considered it. After reading inspirational blogs such as Alterations Needed by Kelly and Extra Petite by Jean. I’ve been learning a lot about how to make my clothes fit better. I am inspired to re-look at my closet and really consider each piece and it’s fit on my frame.

Speaking of shopping, recently I’ve been obsessing over J. Crew, Banana Republic, Ann Taylor and Zara. I love the way the clothes from these stores fit especially because they are petite friendly and the clothing is made so well. Don’t get me wrong, I still like to occasionally shop at Forever21 but as of late, I’ve been expanding my fashion horizon by shopping at other stores.

On another note, I’m honestly liking the fact that writing about shopping and clothing is teaching me a lot about being a better shopper and understanding the way clothes fit my frame. Wish me luck in my petite fashion journey. It has just started but I think it will be a great one. Thank you for reading. If you do read please leave me a comment or like so I know you were here.

Take care and have a great weekend.

Abstract Prints and Bronze Accessories

Hi All,
Happy Sunday. It’s been quite muggy and warm lately in Hawaii. I really hoping for some wing and rain. It is so much more refreshing. Speaking of refreshing, lately I have been straying away from my usual silver tone accessories and moving towards more brassy, bronze, and gold tone. Whether it is rings, necklaces, bracelets, and even bags. I’m definitely favorite the warmer metal colors.

In this outfit, I took dress with an abstract print design and added some bronze accessories to give it a little life. I like the way it looks together. I also added a nuetral shoe to elongate my legs and to add focus on the bronze accessories. I hope you life it. Let me know. Take care and I hope to hear from you soon.
