Naturally Nautical: Stripes and Summer

Nautical Stripes

Happy Friday Everyone! Hope you are having an amazing week. It’s almost the end of July and summer is half way over. Summer has got to be my favorite time of the year. It’s almost always sunny here, the summer heat definitely calls for some beach time and ice cream.

The moment I saw these shorts, they reminded me instantly about summer and the ocean.  Its nautical navy stripes paired with a woven white top and espadrilles make it a perfect outfit to keep cool during the summer months.

What’s your favorite summer time outfit?

Thank you again for reading. Take care.

Summer Lace & Retro Pearls

Summer Lace

Hey Everyone,

Nothing reminds me of summer more than cream and lace. When I first saw this blouse from J. Crew, I absolutely adored the puffy lace sleeves and the airy cotton bodice,  perfect for the warm summer days and nights in Hawaii. I foresee this blouse becoming a definite summer wardrobe staple. I cannot wait to pair it with shorts for a more casual look or dress it up a bit with a high waist pencil skirt.

I added retro inspired pieces like the pearl and pyramid bangles and the pearl leaf necklace to dress it up a bit. I love the creamy look of the gold paired with the pearls in each of these pieces,  the gold is subtle and not overpowering so it dresses up this casual outfit.

Art Deco Inspired: Modern Herringbone, Quilted Leather, and Brass

Happy Thursday Everyone,

For the past couple of years, I’ve been inspired to shop outside of my conform zone. Denim pants, shorts, and skirts, have always been my fashion security blanket because they are easy to pair and wear with just about anything. Recently, I’ve been on a mission to find bottoms made of different textures, prints, and fabrics and experiment with different pairings.

A couple of weeks ago, I found this quilted faux leather shorts and was inspired to pair them with different items from my closet. The result is this art deco inspired pairing with a modern herringbone designed tank and brass jewelry. I love how the different textures, finishes, and designs fit so well together.

Thank you again for reading. Take care.
