Seventies Flare: Wide Leg Trousers and Bow Collar Blouse

Seventies1

I am completely loving Spring’s throwback to the 70’s. The wide legged pants, the high necklines and platform shoes.  The feeling of nostalgia is welcomed without the color combinations from the 70’s.

But it all honesty, the 70’s never left fashion, it just stepped out of the fashion limelight. At least that is how I see it. 70’s style has been around here and there, spotted in several reincarnations as jumpsuits, coordinates, blouses, and wide legged pants through the years.

For this look, I did not look very far, I actually decided to shop my closet and see if the 70’s trend already existed in it and low and behold this outfit came together.

It is an outfit of items I added into my closet from many seasons past. The trouser look from 2011, a bow collar blouse from two years ago and a basic cardigan I adore. Not to mention, a pair of ultra wedge platforms picked up on sale a while back.

A style or trend that is classic never really leaves, it sort of lingers until it takes the fashion stage again. So a tip I would like to share with you is, before running to the mall to get the latest trend this season, check out your closet and find items you already love that embody the trend.

How are you translating the 70’s trend this season? Tell me what you think. Thanks again for reading.

Elle

Spring in my Steps: Black, White, and Floral

bwroses2

Hey Everyone,

I hope you are having an amazing Monday. Spring is in the air and I could not help but celebrate the beginning of Spring with some floral print shoes. I found these last year and instantly fell in love. I just adore the roses in bloom and how they remind me of afternoon tea in the garden with friends. I love how the print of the shoe updates the classic silhouette of the pointed toe pump.

I must admit that the shoes is definitely the focal point of this whole outfit. I wanted to highlight the beautiful print on the shoe so I decided to keep everything black and white with subtle details; the quilting on the clutch, the drape design on the shirt,  and the velvet texture of the pants. I do hope to show off this pair in the future with more outfit pairings.

Do you own a pair of shoes that reminds you of Spring? Let me know and share with me your thoughts.

XOXO,

Elle
