Spring in my Steps: Black, White, and Floral

bwroses2

Hey Everyone,

I hope you are having an amazing Monday. Spring is in the air and I could not help but celebrate the beginning of Spring with some floral print shoes. I found these last year and instantly fell in love. I just adore the roses in bloom and how they remind me of afternoon tea in the garden with friends. I love how the print of the shoe updates the classic silhouette of the pointed toe pump.

I must admit that the shoes is definitely the focal point of this whole outfit. I wanted to highlight the beautiful print on the shoe so I decided to keep everything black and white with subtle details; the quilting on the clutch, the drape design on the shirt,  and the velvet texture of the pants. I do hope to show off this pair in the future with more outfit pairings.

Do you own a pair of shoes that reminds you of Spring? Let me know and share with me your thoughts.

Elle

Spring is Here: Shirt and Stripes

stripesandshirt

Hello Everyone,

I hope you are having a great first day of Spring.  One of the major Spring trends that I’m loving right now are shirt dresses. I’m a huge fan of button down shirts and shirt dresses have the same appeal for me. Shirt dresses are easy to put on and embellish. You can definitely dressed them up or down and accessorize how ever you want.  It is a versatile piece you can definitely wear on its own or wear over a pair of skinny jeans or even tuck under a pencil skirt.  It’s a piece that is a great addition to any wardrobe. Ideally, I would recommend finding one that is plain colored or pinstriped if you want to give it staying power in your wardrobe.

I picked this up on sale a couple of years ago while shopping at a local Hawaii boutique called Eden in Love. I instantly fell in love with the colorful stripes and the soft feel and drape of the fabric. Here I finished the look up with a leather obi belt and some nude pumps to give my legs some length.

Rainbows and Rain Boots in Hawaii Rain

In Hawaii, it rains for a major part of the year. In honesty, it’s either sunny or rainy here, those are the only two major weather conditions. Although, we do have snow, it’s only on the peaks or higher elevations. The fall and winter months in Hawaii marks the season for rain and rainbows. Not a day goes by between September to January where you don’t see a rainbows here.

On that note, I often wondered why rain boots are not popular here when almost half the year Hawaii has rain. It got me thinking of investing in a pair of classic rain boots for the fall, winters, and spring months when it rains so much here. I’ll definitely been on the lookout for a great pair of rain boots. I like the idea that they are water resistant and they keep your toes warm and dry. And yes, it does get colder for us here in Hawaii mainly because of the wind chill factor during the winter months.

Hunter has some very cute styles, the knee high rain boots might be a little to much from my petite frame but we will see. I was also looking for rain boots that have cute prints on them just to change it up a little. In honesty, I’m really only looking for a plaid or polka dot print but it’s been fun looking through the many different prints that are out there. I like looking at online stores like Zappos because it’s easy to compare all the different types, styles, prints and prices in one place. I will definitely need to do more research.

Do you have rain boots? What brands or brand do you like? I would love to hear what you think?

Hope you have an amazing Veteran’s Day Holiday. I wanted to thank all the veterans and current soldiers for sacrifices they have made for our country. Blessings always and take care.

Tweed, Pearls, and Channeling Coco

Hello All,
Just stopping in to say hello. I hope you started your weekend with something amazing. One of my favorite fashion icons is Coco Chanel. Her style and taste is timeless. One iconic piece that reminds me of her is the Tweed Blazer. I love to wear tweed on cooler days in Hawaii. I like to layer it over button down shirts and multiple strands of pearls. It is definitely a piece that is worth investing in because it’s not only timeless but also a great way to pull together an outfit and make it dressier. How do you wear tweed? I would love to hear from you.

Thank you again for reading. Please like, comment, or follow my blog. Take care.

Pearls and Pleats!

Hi Everyone,
I hope you are all having a wonderful Friday. I am looking forward to an amazing weekend filled with the company of friends and family.

This week, I had the pleasure of working with two amazing photographers who helped me out with my blog.  Ashley of Taryn Reid Photography and Ronalyn. Two amazing women with so much talent and knowledge about photography. I learned so much from the both of them when it come to photography, posing, as well as understanding the human body in photography. I am truly honored to have work with the both of them. You will have a chance to see some of their work in the proceeding posts.

I just love the way pleats go so well with a basic white button down shirt. I pulled this outfit together with a vest, layered pearl necklaces and a classic pair of black pumps. A great outfit for work or hanging out with friends.

I hope you have an amazing Friday. Thank you so much for reading. Please comment, follow, and like. I would love to hear from you.

Maroons and Browns

Hi Everyone,

Hope you are having a great start of the week. I have always loved Fighting Eel dresses. They are dresses that are very versatile and wearable for any occasion. I picked up this Fighting Eel dress last year at a sample sale. I love the deep maroon color. Here, I paired this Fighting Eel Dress with a beige blazer, pumped up the neckline with a cluster bib fushia necklace I borrowed from my bestie. I finished the outfit with a brown pleated front peep toe pump from Aldo.   Hope you like it. Take care.

Hi Everyone! I hope you had a wonderful weekend and a great start to the new week. I have been in such a long haitus but hopefully I can get into the rhythm of blogging again. This past month has been really busy for me
especially with summer approaching. There is so much I need to accomplish before summer arrives.

I have been searching for a great camera to photograph my outfits as well as a regular person to help me out. If you know a great camera, let me know.

Blogging in the past couple of months has taught me about the time and effort that is really put into sharing with the rest of the world. I greatly appreciate everyone who has supported, commented, followed, and read my blog posts. All of you help me in improving.

I am currently obsessed with interesting prints. The dress I am wearing above is printed with neutral birds amidst a navy background. I added an obi belt to break up the dress and pulled the outfit together with a favorite Aldo wedges and a comfortable cardigan.

Hope you like it and please comment.

XOXOXO,

Deep Corals with a touch of Turquoise

Hello Everyone! Hope you are having a great Friday. I wanted to thank everyone who viewed and gave great comments on the blog, I greatly appreciated it. A few people have approached me about doing blogs on accessories and color combinations, so I can’t wait to share those with you.

I just love the way coral and turquoise go together so nicely. I picked up this dress from H & M last winter. I was instantly drawn to the deep coral color. I accented the dress with taupe accessories like the obi belt, tassel clutch, and my sky high wedges. My favorite accessory to use with this dress is this multi-strand faux turquoise necklace I picked up at Forever21 last summer.

I wanted to thank everyone again for your support. If you have suggestions and comments please comment below. Take care.

Grecian Inspired with a Modern Twist

There is something so clean about white on white. On my photo shoot with Sharon and Will,  Sharon spotted this amazing backdrop of  white stairs. It instantly inspired the outfit that I am wearing here. I love the high-low feature of this dress. The back, not pictured plunges to a V and the bottom of the skirt splits.  The dress is a little sheer but the perfect solution is adding a mini nude color dress underneath so that the slip does not take away from the clean crispy white.  I paired the dress with wedge heels and brass details. The necklace feature below plays up the neckline.

I would like to take the time to thank everyone that has been supporting this blog for the past 2 and half months now. None of this would be possible if it weren’t for your kind word and likes, believe me even the likes have made my day. You are all making part of my dreams come true.  Yesterday, my blog finally made 500 views. It isn’t a lot yet but hopefully it will not be too long before we get to 1000 and beyond. Please comment below or like this post and if you would like to see anything or have any suggestions feel free to comment and let me know. Hope to hear from you and get some feedback. Take care.

Rockin’ Accessories

Hi Everyone,

Hope you are having a great week so far. A plain dress might have a little personality but it’s the accessories that take it from plain to great. I spotted this dress one day while going through the racks at Nordstrom Rack. The small details of the dress caught by eye, like the cowlneck, the cinches at the shoulder and at the hip, a realitively simple cut with a small twist. I added a little rock and roll to this dress with  my chainmaile watch, a pleated detailed bag from Steve Madden and pumped up the look with a caged heel. I hope you are all doing well, take care and please comment or like the outfit.

XOXO,

Elle
