Saturday under the Summer Sun

bestof2Hello Everyone,

Today was a nice day to take in Honolulu. The Best of Honolulu Festival at Honolulu Hale featured food, crafts and fun for the whole family.

Bao Boys Sweet and Tangy Garlic Chicken

Sweet Revenge Lilimansi Pie

Shaka Iced Tea

I decided to keep it cool today with this romper that doubles as a babydoll dress. I love its hidden features and its roomy pockets. It came in handy as we walked around and visited the booths to see the food and wares from different vendors.

I’m currently obsessing over this Cult Gaia bag that was a blogger favorite last year. I love its design aesthetic and construction. It is a such a perfect classic Summer bag.

Thanks again for reading. Take care and blessings.

Off The Shoulder

Summer days calls for lots of breathable cotton and off the shoulder tops. I’ve been spending some time just enjoying the outdoors and breathing in fresh air and enjoying summer flower in bloom.

I paired this blue pin striped off the shoulder top with a comfortable pair of jeans and some neutral accessories.

Thanks and  take care.

Summer Plaid

For the summer, I like to brighten up the wardrobe color palette with oranges and brighter blue hues.  I love the way they play together on this plaid top. I’ve been playing with pieces from my closet recently, trying to figure out the best way to wear them with various combinations.

I’ve also been loving this Eartha Bag from Zac Posen. It’s been my bag of choice as of late with enough room for everything I need.

Thanks again for reading. Take care.

New Year, New Beginning

Happy New Year!

I’m a little late on this New Year’s post but better late than never. Life has been very busy the last couple of months and I cannot thank you enough for your patience. The blog unfortunately had to take a back seat to everything else that was happening; graduate school, work, and wedding planning.

With every new year, there is a promise of new beginnings and a renewed outlook on life. I cannot wait for what is in store for 2016 and I hope you join me in this journey.

Nothing says celebration like a little bit of red, bling, and some fringe to liven things up.

Cheers to you as we start the year, here’s to a wonderful new year ahead and as always, thanks for stopping by.

In Search for Angel Wings

I’m a huge fan of Colette Miller and her Angel Wings Project. It’s art that reminds us that we are the biggest change agents within our community. When I found out that her art work was in Hawaii from a friend. I could not help but go and find it.  We often do not realize how much of an impact we have on our communities, her art makes us realize that we are angels for others here and that we have the power to transform other people’s lives as well as our own.  So on my trip up to North Shore, I paid homage to her art and took the customary picture that many have done.

Here’s a link to her project.  She has gone to many communities using her art as a means to motivate people. Enjoy and I hope you get a chance to check out her art in your community.

It’s Thursday and the week is almost over. The week has been so busy that I’m always here and there, barely stopping. Recently, I’ve been gravitating to my all time favorite combo, a great pair of jeans and a loose button down shirt. It’s so easy to throw on in the morning before work and so easy to change up for whatever comes afterward.  I usually wear it with a pair of flats and minimal jewelry but always change up the look with a cute clutch and some simple heels for a dinner date.

Flowers in the Shade: Sleeveless Button Downs and Floral Pencil Skirt

I’ve always been a fan of the classic pencil skirt in unexpected prints. I feel in love with this skirt last spring because of its bold red poppy print against the deep violet background. I love the contrast of the two colors and how compliment each other so well. They remind me of the beautiful perenials that welcome the Spring sunshine.

The personality of the skirt is so strong that I decided to highlight by using neutral accessories.

This is a perfect outfit for afternoon tea with friends.

Spring in my Steps: Black, White, and Floral

Hey Everyone,

I hope you are having an amazing Monday. Spring is in the air and I could not help but celebrate the beginning of Spring with some floral print shoes. I found these last year and instantly fell in love. I just adore the roses in bloom and how they remind me of afternoon tea in the garden with friends. I love how the print of the shoe updates the classic silhouette of the pointed toe pump.

I must admit that the shoes is definitely the focal point of this whole outfit. I wanted to highlight the beautiful print on the shoe so I decided to keep everything black and white with subtle details; the quilting on the clutch, the drape design on the shirt,  and the velvet texture of the pants. I do hope to show off this pair in the future with more outfit pairings.

Do you own a pair of shoes that reminds you of Spring? Let me know and share with me your thoughts.

Subtle and Elegant: Lace Dress

Hello Everyone,

I hope you are having an great start to your week. I’m loving the sun shiny skies in Hawaii coupled with the chill of the winter wind. It’s great weather, definitely the best of both worlds.

I wore this dress a couple of months ago for a special photo shoot with Vivid Foto in downtown Honolulu. Several pictures were taken in front of the red brick walls near the Irish pubs. This part of downtown reminds me so much of the North East especially Boston.

I absolutely adore this lace floral dress. I love the organic look of the lace overlay and the way the edges border the dress. I keep the shoes and accessories simple because I really wanted to emphasize the subtle details of the dress.

Hope you have a great day. Thanks for reading. Let me know what you think.

Fade to Gray: Gray Stripes and Violet Highlights

Happy Saturday Everyone,

The weather here is getting chilly especially for Hawaii standards. It is definitely my favorite time of year because I have the opportunity to layer, something I do not have a chance to do the rest of the year.

Gray is big this season and I wanted to create an outfit using different shades of gray. I found this dress from Florencia Arias, a local designer, and I instantly fell in love with the cut and the subtle stripes of gray. I like to mix pieces that have structure to pieces that are more organic so naturally, I chose this open cardigan for its shape and added a pop of color with this scarf.

Thank you so much for reading. Let me know what you think.
